Kathleen has a Master's degree in Public Health and has worked in teen pregnancy prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention and sex education. Using a public health approach to the sex talks, her advice is based on the evidence-informed approach from the World Health Organization's International Technical Guidance for Sexuality Education. She uses public health theories on behavior change and developing one's self-efficacy to guide her recommendations on social media and in Top Talks. She does all the boring stuff so you can just start having the sex talks without having to do the research.
Kathleen provides parents with the medically-accurate and factual information for each sex talk. She explains how to deliver each talk in an age-appropriate way that is developmentally digestible for the child. Lastly, she gives parents the opportunity to explain why they believe what they believe. Giving parents the time to share their personal or family values and beliefs around each sex topic in a strategic way or in other words - in a way that their kid actually listens!

"Teen Topics in a Jar" has 30 questions and answers that take on average less than 5 minutes (for each topic) to discuss with your teen. It can be hard to get your teen to participate in the sex talks. Parents, use Kathleen's script to initiate the activity! It's consistently been proven to work to get your teen to participate in Teen Topics in a Jar! It's the words you can say to your teen to prove that this activity is going to be worth their time.
How many times have you heard, "the talk is outdated, you need to have lots of small, ongoing talks with your teen" but then they never tell you how to do that! "Teen Topics in a Jar" is the answer.
